Flight Simulation Intern | Acubed | 2023

As a flight simulation intern,  I spearheaded the development of a sophisticated program in Unreal Engine, utilizing C++ to dynamically generate lifelike foliage and trees across expansive landscapes tailored for flight simulation. Leveraging my expertise in computer graphics, I played a pivotal role in the visual enhancement of Acubed’s flight simulation system, contributing to the establishment of a cutting-edge framework that added significant visual realism to large-scale scenes. Through a seamless fusion of artistic sensibility and automation technology, I successfully streamlined the scene development process, slashing the timeframe from weeks to mere hours and substantially optimizing overall workflow efficiency.

Software Engineering Intern | Tektronix, Inc. | 2022

During my time as a software engineering intern at Tektronix, I presented two API architecture proposals to more than four international product development teams. These two unique API projects in Python aimed to improve product usability and product backend engineering. I also identified issues and proposed management best practices for over 57 Tektronix GitHub repositories, and provided requirements to future Tektronix Instrument Engineering teams on Python software samples to improve customer consumption.

Computer Graphics Teaching Assistant | Oregon State University | 2023

As a graduate teaching assistant for Oregon State University’s computer graphics course, I have the opportunity to collaborate with a wide range of students, fostering a dynamic learning environment through effective teamwork and open communication. I guide and mentor students in animation and computer graphics techniques, encouraging creativity and providing constructive feedback to enhance their skills. I also have the opportunity to facilitate hands-on projects, inspiring students to apply theoretical knowledge to practical, creative endeavors in the realm of computer graphics and animation. I also demonstrate a creative and innovative approach to problem-solving in the context of computer graphics, encouraging students to explore novel solutions to animation challenges. Furthermore, I assist in the evaluation and grading of student projects, providing constructive criticism to nurture their growth in both technical and creative aspects of computer graphics.

Lecture Video Editor | Oregon State University Ecampus | 2020-2023

As an assistant lecture video editor for the course development team at OSU Ecampus, I spent my time collaborating with team members to edit audio and video for over 200 course lectures, contributing to more than 30 courses at one of the most highly-ranked online universities in the nation. Here I was able to polish my video editing skills, experiment with a wide variety of Adobe toolkits, and add my own creative flair to the course content at OSU. I also learned a lot about the media production pipeline, and how important it is to have a team of creative people who work together really well!

Virtual Reality Research Assistant | Oregon State University Ecampus Research | 2021-2022

As a VR Research Assistant, I supervised the first Ecampus VR study on student interaction, enabling the possibility of further implementation of VR at OSU. During this process, I coordinated five research sessions in VR and developed at least five hours of VR activities in which students participated. I also analyzed user experiences in two VR applications and assisted in the collection of student feedback for the study. I am so glad I was able to be a part of this project, and it was so interesting to experiment with virtual reality in an educational context. We came to some pretty interesting conclusions, make sure you take a look at our white paper!
